What is sous vide cooking?

Sous Vide (pronounced “sue-veed”) was once limited to professional chefs. This cooking technique can use precise temperature control to achieve consistent, restaurant-level cooking results. For many years, high-end restaurants have been using vacuum cooking to ensure that the food can be cooked to the required precision every time.

Sous vide cooking (Sous vide means “under vacuum” in French) refers to the process of vacuum-sealing food into a bag, and then cooking the food to a very precise temperature in a water tank. The effect of this technique is unattainable by any other cooking method.

Sous vide cooking is much simpler than you think, and usually consists of three simple steps:

Why use sous vide cooking?
