The Hilt & Steel dedication to premium construction:

Steel
After many months of testing steel samples from different manufacturers Japanese AUS10 is by far the highest quality steel we’ve seen. Many companies have created their own version of this flooding the market with inauthentic varieties of the premium Japanese steel we use. These versions won’t be as durable and won’t maintain an edge as well. The carbon content is lower and possibility of other impurities in the steel is much greater. Hilt & Steel only uses the absolute best

Handle material
Hilt & Steel uses a composite handle on all of our knives. The handle is made from G10 which is a type of fiber glass that is heated and compressed with epoxy resin. This combination of heat, pressure and fiber material produces an extremely strong, nearly unbreakable handle that is also ergonomic and incredibly confortable.

Damascus Pattern
Many of our competitors will laser engrave their knives with a Damascus pattern to make the finished product appear to be more expensive. Unfortunately this is another example of inauthenticity in the marketplace. Hilt & Steel only uses genuine Damascus steel blades to provide our home cooks and chefs with the highest quality of product. This is certainly more time consuming and there is additional material costs but we are absolutely committed to delivering the best possible product.

Sharpening
Hilt & Steel uses the generations old Honbazuke sharpening process. This is a 3 stage sharpening method that produces some of the sharpest knives we have ever seen. Our blades are sharpened at a 12 degree angle which is incredibly low profile. This allows for our knives to be used in precise delicate applications as well as your multi use food prep.
