The grinder is not working in the first use, why?
1. You skipped the “first use cleaning” step in the user manual. When the lights are flashing and the Steam/Hot Water light flashes red, press any coffee function button so that the machine will flush. Wait until the flashing lights turn off and the ON/OFF light starts to flash. The machine will now start to warm up until all four lights are on at the same time. The machine will then enter standby mode.
2.The grinder is not activated. Slide the portafilter into the grinder holder and tilt the handle of the funnel downwards in order to activate the grind switch
The pressure gauge is not reaching the espresso range, why?
Pressure is affected by the following factors:
1. The coarseness of the grind. Start with setting 3 to ensure proper pressure gauge function.
2. Use 0.53oz of coffee grounds for a single cup, and 0.74oz for a double cup. Add more if needed.
3. Apply even pressure of approximately 33lbs/f for 5 seconds when tamping the coffee. Press harder if necessary.
4. Use coffee beans specifically for espresso, roasted to a medium to dark level.
The steam wand is not working well, what should I do?
1. Please use cold whole milk for frothing.
2. Avoid inserting the steam wand too deeply into the milk and position it just below the surface for optimal frothing results.
3. Keep the steam wand at a 30-60° angle relative to the surface of the milk for best frothing results.
Where is the cleaning needle?
If you remove the water tray, you will find a spare filter as well as the cleaning needle placed at the bottom of the machine
